Uniway of Macon - Give Uniway a Chance!

Macon, Georgia 0 comments

I have been a member of Uniway for 6 years now and in the beginning I was a little confused at their process.I actually did my research and found that you can save money.

Like they say in the beginning you will not save on everything. So I researched and learned what to use their service for and what not to. Their furniture is a Great Savings!! There mattresses is a Great Savings!!

We got a mattress set (starts with Tempur) and saved $3,426.07 on it alone. I am not sure how much it is now but it was worth the $1,999.00 my wife and I spent. Their store lets us buy nicer items we though we couldn't afford but actually can. You will not save on everything (No Matter what is said) but if you research and then purchase it is very rewarding.I had to write something on here because they are not the Scam that some of these people say.Just do your research on Sears or any Company and you will always find someone is not happy with them.

Welcome to life folks...

can't please everyone all the time.

Uniway of Macon - RIP OFF AND SCAM ARTISTS!!!

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! I received a mailing saying I could win a free car or a free vacation/jewelry as a consolation prize. I was looking to buy a car at the time and decided to try my luck. Their mailing did not mention anything about what they did or the sales pitch that I'll get when I go there. I thought I would go there, try my key to see if I won, and be out of there in a few minutes. I was totally wrong!!

I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was told to wait in their waiting room until my appointment time. I thought OK, I guess I'll do that. While I was waiting, there was a brochure laying on the table and I starting reading it. That's when I found out what they did. I immediately wanted to get up and walk out, but I really needed a car so I decided to tough it out.

The salesman came in and started to give his sales pitch. I noticed his face was stone cold and emotionless. He was cold, manipulative, and he was out to get my money. In order to be a member, they required that you give them almost $2000 up front. That was a lot of money, so I asked if I could think about it for a few days before deciding. He rudely said NO. Sooo, he wanted me to give $2000 to a company that I knew nothing about.....right that instant?!? Bulls***!!

After hearing that, I knew I wasn't going to be a member. I probably should've walked out, but I decided to play around with him a little bit. While he was giving the tour, I would ask all kinds of dumb and insinuating questions about the products they had and about their scamming company. One of the questions I asked was whether there was anything wrong with the products that he said were high quality and brand new. He didn't like that too much and didn't answer it. A family was with me during the tour and I wanted to make sure they didn't get scammed.

The tour took almost 2 hours and I was lead into a "holding" room. The salesman walked in and he went off on me. He was a lot older than me, so he was talking down to me thinking he was superior. Great way to treat your potential customer! The whole time I smiled and quietly let him vent. After he was done, I went off on him saying this company was a joke and a scam and he was no different than a greedy used car salesman. I told him to f*** off and I walked out and drove away. I didn't even try to win the car or get the consolation prizes.

DON'T FALL FOR THEIR MARKETING TRICKS!! If you receive a mailing from them, throw it away. Google "uniway rip off" and you'll find tons of complaints from people who have been scammed and ripped off. Their website even looks fishy and made up. If you have been ripped off, complain as much as possible. Hopefully it would shut them down and stop them from scamming more people.

UNIWAY.... GO F*** OFF!!!!!

Awesome review!I received a mailing from them years ago and was smart enough not to fall for their tricks.

I threw it away.

They called me several times afterwards inviting me to visit their facility and I kept telling them No.Obviously, they can't take No for an answer.

UNIWAY OF MACON SCAM

It all started when I got a call, telling me I had been selected to win something, I don't remember entering my mind thought, but I bit anyways. So the lady explains she will be sending me a key, the she has a few "survey" question, some of which asked about my household income, 1st RED FLAG!! Next, they want my husbands' info and they will not allow us to visit without one another, 2nd RED FLAG!!! So once we got there, as soon as the guy walk in to greet us, I knew I should have stayed home. He was far worse than a car salesman (pushy, arrogant, egotictical, and dymatic), or any salesman for that matter. Mind you, I was told that they just wanted mt to come in and try my key, and I would receive a contalation prize just for visiting. SO they guy talks, and talks, and talks without allowing us to get a word in edge wise, I promise he talked they entire time (2hours). At the end wanted my hour and a half back. I am a certified CPA; however I did not outright disclose this information. Once the guy started into his hyper driver sales rant, he was shocked how I kept correcting his miscalculated metrics (RED FLAG). He went on and on for about 2 hours, but never wanted to disclose a price (RED FLAG), instead we were walked around a showroom and hand feed a bunch of chicken **** and told it was caviar. In fact, the rules such has what THEY consider gift and not gift and how you can not come with anyone, are all rediulous. If I spend my money how and you deligate what I do with my purchase? THAT'S CHICKEN ****. Also we were told that in was an invatation only process, they because they have deveolped a process of promissing you something to gain your interest and lying to you through the entire process! THE bastards!! I really feel sorry for all the people they sucker!! Toward the end he told us it would be around $3000(OMG) for our membership, and he would give us time to think. As soon as he closed the door, without saying a word myself and my husband signed that we were not interested, as we were told we could not think about it and must make a decision today (RED FLAG). Once the pushy little *** returned, he had the nerve to try and become overly arrogant about our decision to decline, but still running his mouth a mile a minute, but not really saying anything. At this point my frustration level was through the roof, as I felt as if he was trying to be demeaning. If you are *** enough to give these crooks your money you absolutely deserve what you get! You would have to spend at least $5000 on top of your original $3000 to see the benefit of your investment, and let's be honest, even their prices will rise in these harsh economical times. Anytime someone wants you to agree to pay that amount of money, but doesn't want you to have time to think about it, RUN FAST!!!!! He was offended when I told him I was not going to finance a measly $3000, and I actually had to go into prayer to refrain from cursing him out. Once he handed my husband the "Austrian tennis braclet", that I was promises, which really means fake, I gave it directly back to him as it would not even be suitable for my dog! We were the last people to leave the building, and all the other employees had gone home (it was around 9 when we left), and the only other car in the parking lot was a rusted out beat up van, but he told his he had top of the line cars through Uniway (yeah right!). If this was his idea of top of the line, I am confident in my decision. Don't be scammed! Your saving will never ever exceed you spending with this company!! I want to shout it from the rooftop!! This was the worse experience ever, and I am so pissed I could hardly think straight.

Been a uniway customer since 2004.I originally enrolled in Savannah, Georgia but recently moved my membership to Macon, Georgia.

I recently built my dream home. With the assistance of Uniway staff along with my contractor, I saved over $47,500!!!! The items I saved on we're hardwood floors, granite, lighting, windows, all furniture, and appliances. I would not utilize uniway if looking for item here and there such as a watch or tv.

Anyone thinking this is a scam may have not thought the purchase out.Much like a condo purchase, it's not for everyone

We were invited to Uniway to try our key to win a grand prize and were guaranteed two prizes (We won a cheap tennis bracelet in a shiny box and a "free" trip for two that we have to pay money before we even see the voucher). We were told it would take 30 min to an hour for the tour, and it lasted 2 hours.

The salesman, John, was good at his job, but he was the epitome of a sleazy salesman. He talked us into it and before we knew it, we were $2600 in the hole for a membership fee and nothing to show for it. If you're thinking of buying into this and have cash and are building/furnishing an entire home, by all means it is for you. If not, hit the sales and don't listen to the garbage coming out of their mouths.

We cancelled within 3 days (per our contract) and received 2 calls from the owner and our salesman trying to save the sale. If you buy into it and don't want it, you will be talked down to and disrespected.

Sorry I didn't want to blow $2600 on junk. Please head my warning and stay away unless as I stated you are a contractor or building/furnishing a home.

Update: We had three days to cancel and within ten days they would issue a credit to our credit card. After acting like a total ***hole, the owner finally credited it...on the TENTH day.

Please take your money elsewhere and just negotiate with salesmen for the things you purchase.Don't pay for this junk.

Uniway of Macon is a scam. They lied to us from the beginning to the end. We were told that we could pretty much get anything in the beginning.

In the end, after attempting to purchase a television, a computer and other things, we were offered a rebuilt computer. The television that we wanted, they could not get it for us.

Someone PLEASE find out what can be done to bring this company down and get people back their money that has been spent on nothing. In the end, we will also be paying out over $3000 on financing. This is wrong and unfair.

We really and truly believe that if all the dissatisfied members of Uniway, all come together, something can be done to stop this fraud. What do you think?

I was told that I had possibly a winning key which might bring me either a bundle of money or nice prizes. I thought the sales pitch would take 30 minutes. I was there for 2 hours and when I refuse to sign and join, it became personal with the salesmen saying over and over, "Well I guess I didn't do a good enough job." I wanted to say, "Stop harassing me."

If you don't live by the available balance left on your 12-20 credit cards then you could see the benefit of uniway. If you don't buy things on credit and pay the high interest rates and you actually do you homework on how much things cost, you would benefit from uniway.

If you have made all your big purchases in your life and will never need anything, say like new tires or new mattress---then yeah you would NOT benefit from uniway. We paid the IN full membership 3 years ago and bought most of our christmas gifts over the years...however, we just made our first big purchase...Pulaski Brookefield Collection bedroom set...google it...full retail is over $9000 for what we got...we paid $3000 (before taxes)...can I get a what? I just saved $6000 on something that I wanted...

I could have bought 2 of you a membership with my savings...Uniway is not a scam..you just have to work at it to save and not believe the retail shops!

My husband and I are also uniway members and love it!You just buy directly from the manufacturer.

I dont understand what people thought they were going into. Do your research! We bought the better homes and garden bedroom set for $3,500 and it was going to cost us $7,000! As the commenter above stated, it isnt for everyone.

We are newly married and intend to buy more furniture from Uniway!

Going this year to buy our Broyhill couch for %50 off pretty much!

I am a member. We paid our membership fee in full, because we certainly weren't going to pay finance charges- and the salesman encouraged us NOT to use the financing if we didn't need to.

What *** thinks you don't have to pay your monthy payment if you don't use the membership?!?!? Seriously. We made our first purchase today and we saved $1100. I know we saved that.

I know how much it cost at Ashley and I know that I saved 50%. One purchase and our membership is 1/3 paid for? Worth it. Our bedroom furniture is next and the savings on that will cover the remainder of our membership.

No, you won't make your savings back on electronics, but they told us that up front. And we're members at West Cola Uniway.

My husband and I joined Uniway in West Columbia, SC 18 years ago when the membership fee was $1999.I was told that I could cancel within 3 days, so within 3 days I took my letter of cancellation to the Uniway store.

The salesmen made out like I was missing out on the chance of a lifetime that would never come again. I was young and *** so I didn't give him the cancellation notice. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM! We had put this on our credit card and it took years to pay it off.

We tried once to find what we needed in the catalogs which were difficult to use.We never would have saved enough to offset such an expensive membership fee.

They also will try to put it on your credit it you do not pay for *** that you have. I tell everyone who will listen do not I respect invest your monies in this sorry excuse for a company. Big lots, Walmart, K-mart any other place then Uniway.

The people that works their are rejects and can't work in real retail stores.*** on you Uniway, I will speak bad on this company and hopefully it will spread like cancer because that is what you deserve.

I have been a member of uniway for over 10 years. In the beginning they give you the price and the option to pay cash for your membership.

Your must do your research on products to get the best price. We saved over $100,000.00 using uniway when we built our house. It took us a little longer waiting on things to come in but for the most part things came in when they said it would, we were behind on ordering on time to keep the building process going. But now we know, through trial and error.

If you buy products one at a time it may not seem like a good investment, but if you are building a house it is an excellent investment!8)

I have written a few places about the Uniway scam and I urge anyone thinking about it DON'T, you wil be disappointed..They lied to us about at least three important things.

I was a little younger and didn't see the hard sell coming (always a good sign to get out. My uniway was an hour away, they said they would ship, lie, it's impossible to shop for what you want and I almost always find a better price than offered without much effort. Just ask for a price match. These are not deep discounts and they won't cover your membership cost..

A big lie they told me was that I could just pay the $100 whenever I was ready to use the service again even if I didn't need it for awhile. In reality they will ask you to pay for every past year as well... $100 is hard to save, $500 is impossible, unless you are buildn a high end home from scratch... SCAM BEWARE...

to end it all, the one that was an hour away in Knoxville closed. Now, I am stuck contacting another state with no help

BARRON(UNIWAY SALESMAN) out of W, Cola,SC.My mom always told me if it sounds to good to be true it is.

"Barron" tried and tried to sell me by changing the prices so I could afford it. Every time I told them no he would try and think of new ways to sucker me. Saying they would give $200 to me for 12 names and numbers of friends. I wouldn't do it.

Then they gave me a crappy $1,000 Gift Certificate to www.selectyourgift.com. I looked at it and seen cheaply made junk. Sure get the junk for free but pay the shipping is paying for the cheap junk anyway. Then I got a 3 day 2 night stay any where I wanted.

No Thanks, And last but not least Free Dinner & a Movie. First you have to pay for it out of your own pocket then send the receipt.

They will send you a check back for the total cost up to $45 in 4-6 weeks.Got news for you go sucker someone else.

I am a member of Uniway in Columbia.I was told that if I was unable to make the monthly installments, there would be no penalty for late payments.

The reason I asked that was because I felt as if I shouldnt pay the $153 on the months I didnt purchase anything. But that was a lie! I even made sure I asked this question at least 3 or 4 times. The next thing I dont like about it is that we have to email or call a rep to get pricing!

If we're paying $3500 for a membership..shouldnt we be able to look up prics ourselves?? I mean they're closed on Mondays, but what if I see something I want on Monday? I still have to send them an email and hopefully they'll reply before lunch on tues. The most I've seen in savings so far is Ashley furniture.

The tv's, appliances, even kids toys and playground toys are cheaper in Wal Mart! So in other words I guess Wal Mart is selling the same items at wholesale pries and are not making any profit?! We know better than that! If there was something I could do to change this all, trust me I would.

But I have other ways in getting back at them and its working just fine for me!lol..Shhh!

I visited a uniway in columbia,sc a few weeks ago.Walking in I didn't know what to think.

A man named Barron was our tour guide. He seemed friendly at first. After the tour and the 2 hour talk about how uniway is the way to go, he divided us in 3 seperate rooms. As we waited for "Barron" to come back and sit down with us, We explained that we were interested but buying a house was more important to us at the time.

He got mad and started blasting us in this small room. I immediately went for the door. If this man wasn't old I would have came across that desk and slap his *** for acting in a horrible manner towards us. As we left we overheard him talking *** about us to the other 2 couples.

Anyhow the 2 gifts you recieve is nothing but garage, 500 dollars for stuff that is useless. You could go to your nearest "Big lots" and fine better items to use. Uniway is a rip off, they want a one time charge of 3500 dollars. The prices and the books looked new of what the salesman showed us, but even as members you can't take them home?

Something odd about that. And if uniway, was the way to go, why are there retail stores?

Everyone would be out of business?Anyhow "Barron" if your reading this, your a piece of ***.

Hi- Well, as you can see you can not make everyone happy.I have been a member since 1988 and have saved 10's of THOUSANDS of dollars.

With over 100 of thousands of members to have a few people complain is pretty much a standard. Overall UNIWAY is very much a bargan even if it cost 5,000 - you just have to know how to plan to make a purchase and be a smart buyer/shopper. Sure they do not save you money on everything but what they do save you on is well worth the membership. I say JOIN and save - be a smart shopper.

I have bought items from an AUTOMOBILE - to fishing supplies, etc... I saved over 1300 just on my GMC off the very lowest possible price anywhere.

*** - I saved over 3000 just on my bedroom set.JOIN & SAVE - be smart.

I am also a uniway customer.Sure I was approached with above average customer service; however, any item I wish to purchase is "discontinued".

Hmmmm...a bit strange to me. I joined to purchase high quality materials at a fraction of the cost. But, I'm always offere cheap looking, dated items priced way above reason after freight, shipping and other hidden costs.

Do Not Join.Wait until the item goes on sale, or search the internet and I'm sure you will be satisfied.

I am a current member of Uniway of Columbia & I can honestly say that I was skeptical of the claims that were made when I joined.I carefully read my contract after signing & found the "3 day" right of recission & verified this to be legal practice in South Carolina.

The next day I went to the showroom to test the sales claims & I was pleasently suprised. I found a friendly staff willing to help me get the information I needed to compare pricing. Although, they were not able to get all of the items I requested pricing on, they were able to provide comparable items at fair discounts. The items they did carry I found a significant savings!!!

I have been a member for 5 years now & have saved around $15,000.00.I would say it was well worth the $3000.00 investment.

I have also recently been victim of the same scam.I am also stuck in paying for services I do not use and are not what was promised.

Further I sent certified return of contract a week after signing that the Uniway in Columbia SC sent back stating contract must be canceled within 72 hours of signing. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM. The salesman pressured us into signing the contract and told us we could cancel at any time.

This is not the case and we are paying for something we do not use.We have had nothing but negative interactions with uniway.
